DBE Orientation & Training Services for NYSDOT

NYSDOT’s WorkSmartNY Supportive Services/DBE Orientation & Training Program is a key initiative of the Office of Diversity and Opportunity to provide training, information and guidance to minority, women and socially and economically disadvantaged businesses (DBEs) and help them procure work with NYSDOT.

Given the significant number of new transportation and infrastructure projects occurring throughout New York State, it is important that disadvantaged firms are able to effectively participate on these projects. The WorkSmartNY DBE Orientation and Training has been developed to enable these firms gain knowledge and understanding on finding NYSDOT procurement opportunities, understand processes and requirements of working with NYSDOT, make connections with prime contractors and successfully market their services.

Through the WorkSmartNY Program, small businesses are provided information, training and resources on doing business with NYSDOT and succeeding in New York’s growing transportation and infrastructure market.To this end, NYSDOT has engaged r6catalyst, a certified M/W/DBE management consulting firm that specializes in providing strategic consulting, training and assistance to diverse organizations.
